ATC Challenge

Anya ATC

Anya ATC

Happy Wednesday Everybody!

Today I want to show you ATC card that I made for ATC Challenge at Marie’s Splendid Stamping blog. That is my first ever ATC!

To make it I used three stamp sets from Pink Poison: Teacher Anya, Wishing Tree and Home Sweet Home. I added a head band for Anya that I made using circle Nestabilities and a flower punch from EK-Success. I also made “a-la prima” flower using Fold-Back Swirls template from Hot Off The Press Company. I also used Fiskars scissors to cut around the letter stamp and main image mat.

Tomorrow is a very big Holiday! We are not going anywhere. We will just stay home and have dinner.

I wish you all Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you will all have a very good time with your family!

Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your best comments! I appreciate all of them and thankful for having my blogger friends!

 Happy crafting,

Elena

Supplies I used: cardstock from Jo-Ann, black StazOn ink, Wishing Tree stamp set, Teacher Anya stamp, Home Sweet Home stamp set, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, Fold-It Swirls template, pearls from Michaels, flower punch EK-Success company, DP from DCWV, Fiskars scissors, velvet ribbon, circle Nestabilities

Добрый День! Сегодня мне бы хотелось Вам показать карточку, которую я сделала для проекта на блоге Splendid Stamping

Learning From My Own Mistakes

Hello! Happy Saturday! Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Today I tried to do a card for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. Had so many ideas in my head but the result is so poor and I am not satisfied with my cards. They are terrible! I tried to jump over my head I guess. I didn’t want to post them, but then decide to. We are all learning from our own mistakes sometimes. So here are my 2 big mistakes of the day.

First Card

First Card

The first card was made using Fiskars acrylics clear stamps. My idea on this card was to use a spotlighting technique here. But it didn’t work.

Second Card

Second Card

The second card was made using Fold-It Swirls Template from Hot Off the Press. This card is supposed to be a classic Christmas card, but I think my son could do a better job.

I will try to do another card. May be the third one would be better at least.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Enjoy the weekend!

Hugs,

Elena

She never got my card…

Mushroom CardI don’t know if you remember the card that I made a long time ago for my friend’s daughter. I called them yesterday and they told me that they never got it. I am very upset about this. Her daughter thought that I forgot about her. But it is not true… I wanted to make another one, but I don’t have the same paper. And it would be another one, not the same. I don’t know what’s happened; usually I don’t have any problems like thi

My other news is that next week I am going to Omsk, Russia (West Siberia). I am a little bit nervous about this trip. Don’t like Chicago O’Hare Airport too much. Very long flight – 3 changes of  airplanes. One day travel. I was never as nervous about my flight, as I am this year. I am traveling with my son. He is very good at those long travel trips. Hope the airplane won’t crash and I will come back with new stories and new ideas and cards. We are leaving on the 22nd of July and coming back on August 13th.

Please, wish me good luck and cross your fingers for me!

I will miss my husband, my cat, our house, and miss all of you!!!

For today’s cards I decided to show you several that I made long time ago using templates Fold-It Swirls and Fold-Back Swirls from HOTP company. They are so easy and fun to make.

For the card with a cute bear face I used an idea from Craft Genie. I didn’t have any punches and that time and any templates, I used whatever I had on hand as a template and hand cut all the circles.

My Favorite Card Spring Bloom

The blue card with pink flowers is my favorite for some reason.

Thank you for stopping by,

Sincerely,

Elena

Last Wednesday we went to City Hall for a special event Science Alliance.

Listening or TalkingA teacher who is also a scientist was telling about insects in a very special form. He was comparing them with people, their behavior, body structure and their way of living. I really liked it and I think kids enjoyed it too. The decorations were great! You can see some on the pictures. The most fun part was to try special glasses where you can see like different insects. My son also liked trying to become a grasshopper’s lunch.

This event was part of a library program called Reading Bug. I really appreciate the wonderful people at the library who are doing it for our kids. Especially Ms. Carolyn.

Bug Vision Being A Bugs Lunch

Butterfly CardTalking about insects, here are some cards I made. For the card with a butterfly I used a Heidi Grace Collection acrylic stamping set and for the butterfly image I used a stamp from Enchanted Fairies rubber-stamping set. I stamped them with golden pigment ink and then embossed with golden embossing powder. I also stamped some flowers separately and embossed them. Then I cut them, colored with markers, and attached to the main flower image with glue dots.

For the next card that I made for my Grandma I used a dragonfly sticker. The flower was made using a template from Paper Wishes designed by Susan Janes. I love those templates. They are easy and fun to use not only in card making but scrap booking also.

Flower Card Bee Happy!

A third card also was made for my Grandma. I cross-stitched a ladybug, punched some little flowers, added an embroidery thread for a stem and that’s it.

Thank you for looking at my blog!
Hope to see again,
Elena

Supplies I used for the cards: cardstock, designer paper, Fold-It Swirls template, stickers, flower punch, embossing powder, golden pigment ink, gift wrapping paper (for making a flower), embroidery floss, ribbon, stamps, Marvy Uchida Brush markers, rub-ons, glue dots.
