Cowgirl – Special Request

Hello My Friends!

How are you all doing? I just came back from a trip to my dear friend who lives in TN. We had a great time together and I already miss her.

Before this trip I made a card for my friend’s friend. She asked if I can make a cowboy theme card. I said that I can do any card for her. And here it is – Cowgirl special request card.

Cowgirl

I hope that my friend liked it and of course that her friend will like it too.

I used digital stamp from La-La Land Crafts, sometimes digital stamps are like crafters life savers (instant download sure helps). 🙂

That is all from me for today. I was looking through my craft room and put aside some of the stamps I am not going to use anymore. Plus I need to clear up a space for my new crafting goodies for the future (Christmas is coming soon). I am planning on posting pictures of these stamps and try to sell them.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments!

Wishing you all beautiful day,

Elena

A Rose for You…

Hello! How are you all doing? Hope everything is well with you and your families. As for me I feel a little bit down the weather; I think fall has some sentimental mood… But I am here not to bore you with my feelings, I am here to show you a card.

I made it for Sergei’s teacher from last year. It is her birthday today! I hope she will like this sweet Marci with Rose. I used my colored pencils to color her; decided to go with the lighter shades. For the layout I followed Taylored Expressions Sketch; worked perfectly with the DP I chose.

That is all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me some love. Wishing you a beautiful day,

Elena

Marci with Rose

Hello My Friends! Thank you so much for get well wishes to my husband. The surgery went well; that what the doctor said. It took him two hours instead of one…  Right now Ken is at home recovering; he is still in pain. I don’t know if it is from the surgery or the same one he had before. I only can tell that it is not easy to live with a loved one who is going through all of this… I only hope that one day he will be pain free and his knee will be functional again. I know that Ken feels frustrated and very upset about all of this; we both going through the hard times… I am trying to be positive and believe that “after the rain there will be a rainbow”.

I wasn’t crafting over the weekend; but on Monday I took my pencils and papers, stopped at Jen Del Muro’s blog for some inspiration. Her sketches are so much fun to play with, and this weeek sketch is so cute . 🙂 I also needed a birthday card…  Marci with Rose was a perfect choice. She is so sweet! As you can see I added a big flower here (it was a blog candy from La-La Land Crafts blog); I think it fits this card pretty well!

That is all for now. I would like to thank you all of you for taking your time and stop by at my little place. Thank you for reading my post or for looking at the card; thank you for leaving me your words. I really appreciate it!

Inky hugs,

Elena

Sweet Dreams Marci

Hello My Friends!

Sorry I have been so quiet for so many days; life was very busy here lately. Anyway I had some crafting time yesterday and made a card using a digital stamp from La-La Land Crafts  – Sweet Dreams Marci. Don’t you like her bunny slippers and night dress? I imagined that Marci just got up and ready for another day (that is why I stamped Hello Sunshine sentiment from Verve stamp company).

For the layout I followed Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch, which is so beautiful! Always enjoy visiting her blog and always find inspiration there.

I think that is all for today… Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! See you soon with another project,

Elena

Ahoy Matey! Pirate Luka is here!

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Today I have a new card for you to show and a new story! I am so happy that I feel like writing stories again about my cards. This cute Pirate Luka from La-La Land Crafts inspired me for the card and story. He is available as a digi at the store for a limited time, but don’t worry he will be back in rubber in the middle of September. Oh, and I just saw that Marci and me won a Christmas Challenge! Thank you so much to La-La Land! Did you see a new image that Irina created? Oh, my goodness, it is so precious! 🙂

As you can see, for the layout of my card I followed Sweet Sunday Sketch. This sketch reminded me a part f Luka’s outfit and I decided to recreate into a card design. So what do you think?

Okay, now to the fun part… A new story about Pirate Luka. My son, Irina and all of you my readers inspired me for this. I even know a parrot that is a part of this story too. My mom (in Russia) has a talking parrot, he really can speak! It is just amazing. So, take a cup of coffee or tea and start reading. I hope you will enjoy it!

…This story happened in one of the summer afternoons. There was a little boy named Luka who lived with his parents and his pet, talking parrot Kesha. Usually Luka was playing with his friends outside or was reading a book; sometimes he was playing with his mom or dad (when they had time), or he was teaching his parrot new words. But this day was so hot and humid outside, and Luka’s mom was busy at the kitchen, and his best friend went to visit his grandparents. So Luka walked to the kitchen and told his Mom:

“Mom, I am so bored today. Can you play with me?”

Since Mom was so busy and she couldn’t do it anyway, she said:”Why don’t you read a book, or try to built your new Lego?” I forgot to tell that Luka was a great fan of Lego’s.

“I just finished one book and Lego was built already. Remember I showed you?”

Mom thought for a minute and then an idea came in her head. Last week they read a book about hidden treasure and pirates; this can be a good game for Luka!

“Luka, remember a book we have read last week? Would you like to be a Pirate Luka? I will help you with the clothes and a map. I will hide a treasure for you. You already have a parrot; all you need is your imagination!”

“That sounds like a good idea, Mom! But what will be my Pirate ship?”

“Or that is easy – we have a big empty box in our basement, we can use it!”

“Hooray!” – screamed Luka! He ran into the living room “Kesha did you hear you will be Pirate’s Parrot!”

Mom took her old cardigan, and it became a Pirate jacket. Dad’s felt hat became a Pirate’s hat; they just added a skeleton head and bones (Luka drew them on the paper and cut it out).  Luka’s rubber boots became his Pirate boots. And old pillow case was a bag for collecting all the treasures. Mom drew a map and hid some treasures (small toys, candy and coins) around the house. They even made a flag out of old t-shirt for the ship.

“Now you all set, Pirate Luka!” – said Mom.

“Ahoy matey! To the Treasure Island!” – In a big excitement screamed Luka. He put Kesha on his shoulder and started his treasure adventure.

One hour later… Mom finished her work at the kitchen and noticed that it had been so quite for the last 15 minutes. She went into the living room and saw her little Pirate Luka sleeping on the coach (Treasure Island) holding the last found treasures (coins) in his hand. Mom carefully took his boots and hat off, stroked his hair, and kissed her sleeping Luka.

“My little Pirate… I wonder what you see in your dreams” – she smiled… But we know that in his dreams Pirate Luka was travelling across the ocean to the Treasure Island…

Thank you so much for reading it. Please, let me know how did you like it? I will see you soon with a new card and maybe a new story,

Elena

P.S. Sorry for all of the grammar and punctuation mistakes… Still need to improve my English. 🙂

La-La Land Challenge

Hello and happy Sunday! 🙂

Today I have an early Christmas card for you to show. I wanted to participate in La-La Land Crafts Challenge and this week is all about Christmas. You know how much I liked Birthday Marci from La-La Land and I thought:”Why not to dress Marci in a Christmas dress?” Isn’t she look so cute in her red outfit? I wonder what Santa brought her for Christmas; maybe it is a new stuffed toy (friend for her Panda)?

Christmas Marci

I have a day off today. Just finished some cleaning around the house. Planning on making another card and in the evening I am going to watch final episode of Food Network Star show. Usually I don’t watch TV, but Project Runway and Food Network Star are my favorite shows.

Wishing you all wonderful day. Thank you so much for spending time at my blog!

Hugs,

Elena

I am still alive…

Hello My Friends! Sorry for being so quite lately. Our Munchkin (Sergei) was not feeling very well, and of course I couldn’t be creative. Last week Sergei woke up with a pain in his stomach. Looks like it was one of his Pancreatitis episode. He wasn’t eating at all, just laying with a pillow on his belly. We were giving him lots of liquids; this helped him.Two days passed, he woke up with a very red eye. After visit to the doctor’s office our suggestions were proofed:”Pink Eye”. From one eye it went to another. Two days later, Sergei woke up in the middle of the night with a ear pain. He was crying, and nothing could help him. Went to the doctor again… Ear infection… that is what we need to add to the Pink Eye. But that is not all. Today he wasn’t sleeping again. He got some rough cough. Cough drops didn’t do anything, but I decided to give a try with an inhaler. After 30 minutes my baby was asleep. So all of this really worn Sergei, Ken and me out (plus I was working two Sundays in a row having only one day off during the week). Hopefully our sicky child will be back to normal.

Marci brings you Sunshine

Anyway, today I had some time in my craft room before work. I played with the brand new La-La Land Crafts digi-stamp. Did you hear that Irina (store owner and amazing crafter) just created her very own character. If not, please stop at her blog and look at this cuteness. Isn’t Marci is a real doll? She will be available in rubber in September, but if you can’t wait to play with her she is available in digi format in the store for a limited time only. Irina keeps surprising us and today she showed another sweetie Marci Ballerina! I am very happy that Irina’s dream came true, and she draws her own stamp design. I always believed in her and admired her talent.

I had a really good time coloring Marci, even though I am not as good at this yet. I stopped at Taylored Expressions blog and tried her sketch for this week. After I finished my card I asked my son what does he think about it? He told me that it turned out very cute. His opinion is so important to me, because he is the one who brings a sunshine to my life.

Thank you so much for stopping by and listening to my life rumblings. I wish you all a wonderful day,

Elena

Happy Birthday from Maya!

Hello My Friends! Thank you so much for your kind comments from my previous post. They inspire me and make me feel so good!

Yesterday I made a card for one of my co-workers; it was her birthday. Adorable Birthday Cake Maya that lives at La-La Land Crafts was perfect for this occasion. Inside the card I wrote down some birthday wishes (of course), and at the end I signed it like this:”From yours “cow”-workers”.

Birthday Cake Maya

The layout of this card is from this week’s Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge. What would I do without sketch challenges; they help me a lot!

That is all for today… I will be heading to work soon. Wishing you all a wonderful Saturday and hope you will have a great day,

Elena

Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Card

Hello and Happy Friday! Been so busy this week again, but made one card yesterday. Wanted to participate in Mercy’s  Tuesday Sketch for so long; I missed it so much. Really liked the circle and scalloped border on the layout; it was perfect for a Sitting Pretty Rosie from La-La Land Crafts. I added a button that I had in my stash, and then saw that it matches pretty well to Rosie’s headband flower.

Sitting Pretty Rosie

Do you have any plans for the coming holiday weekend? I am so lucky to have days off! Probably we will be making barbecue, and during the day I am going to ink up more stamps! 🙂 Also planning on going to watch our local fireworks on July 4th.

Before I finish this post, I would like to share some fun news with you. Did you know that on July 10th stamping world will welcome a brand new stamping company from SparkleSparkle’s Creations Rubber Stamps! I am very excited for Sparkle and looking forward to her new designs! She has some sneak peeks with the fabulous give aways at the company blog, and I just won an adorable stamp Lantern Rin! Was very glad to see my name the other day on her blog! Thank you Sparkle and I wish you all the best in your new venture!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me your comments. They mean a lot to me. Enjoy your weekend and summer days,

Elena

LLWWC #35 – Shabby Chic

Hello! Today is another day for a Weekly Wednesday La-La Land Challenge. This week is hosted by Irina who asked us to create a Shabby Chic style card. Thank you Irina for the great challenge!

This was not an easy task for me even though I love this Shabby style. But I have never made a card like this… so please bear with me… If I understand correct this style is all about distressing, sponging, lots of layers and warm colors. I started with the papers that I had for a very long time (K&Company). Then I inked up stamp Whiskers Sleeping from La-La Land Crafts. After coloring it, I added some sponging using distress inks. Tried to create an illusion of the sky background, but no luck here… Really admire other craftes’ talents who can do it beautifully.

LLWWC #35

Anyway here is how my card turned out. Shabby? Chick? I don’t know… But it was my first try. So, for real inspiration please stop at La-La Land blog and have a look at all of the gorgeous cards by DT and Guest DT ladies. We hope that you will join us this week too and show us how Shabby Chick can inspire you. It is always a pleasure to see what you will come up with!

That is all for now. Thank you so much for spending some time with me. I appreciate all your time and attention.

Have a wonderful day,

Elena
