I almost forgot…

… to post a card for Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge. The first week of each month is always a Trend Watch challenge. And here is the picture:

I was inspired by the colors and ocean theme. On this card I tired new techniques: water coloring your own background using distress ink and creating splatters with the paint brush. And I also played Case this Sketch challenge. 🙂

Oh Crab...

Thank you so MUCH for stopping by my friends and leaving me some comments. You make me smile all the time!

Wishing you all a wonderful week,

You Rock!

So glad you stopped by today. My card today was based on the 300th MOJO Monday sketch. When I saw that Julee celebrating her challenge blog Anniversary I told myself that I do need to play with the sketch and participate in the challenge.

You rock!

I used Knick Knacks Paper Smooches stamp set and Basic Grey DP that my friend Anna sent to me. Thank you Anna! 🙂

Thank you so much for looking at my creation. Hope you liked it!

Hugs to all of you,

Very long post and a card (that doesn’t look like me)…

Hello my friends,

Today I have a very long post with lots of pictures. Sorry about this. But shortly you will understand why I have so many pictures.

I prepared a little package for my husband’s daughter who lives in Canada. I met her last summer. She is such a sweetheart. Being away from family I know how it feels. So, I thought that a little surprise in the mail box will bring a smile to her pretty face. I also hope that Robin (my husband’s daughter name) wouldn’t mind that all the items in the package are handmade.

Let’s start with the card. I needed to put a little note inside the package. Just a note would be boring. How about a card? Sounds much better. I tried my best in creating this card (by the way if you happen to find my MOJO, please, send it back to me). It definitely doesn’t look like my style. But I really wanted to participate in the PS Sparks Challenge this week.

As you can see the inspiration has some crayons and soft brown colors. Well, I decided to go with both. I stamped crayons (Smarty Pants set) on the Kraft cardstock using two colors of brown ink (all I had in my stash). Then a crazy idea came into my head – to create an effect like this bear (Chubby Chum Pals) and a crayon were colored by a kid. So, I took the reverse side of the stamp, inked it up and stamped on the white cardstock. Then I used the right side for outline image. It kind of looks like that a kid made this part of the card. Then I thought of adding a piece of printed paper under the note . I took a book from my son’s room, made a copy of it and added it under the note panel. I don’t know if I am happy with the result. I think a my son could do a better job. Oh, well…

And now let’s take a look at the inside of the package. Long time ago I mentioned that I tried a new pattern for the bag that I found on Pinterest. I couldn’t figure it out. After so many hours and tries I did it. Crochet bag for Robin – perfect for a young lady during summer days.

The next one would be the cross-stitched T-shirt I made for her. I wanted to try how the “melting” canvas works. I saw it in the British CrossStitcher Magazine and happened to find it at Michaels or Jo-Ann (don’t remember). It’s made out of some kind of plastic (thin as plastic grocery bag). You attach it to the shirt (or any other garment) and cross stitch. Then you simply wash it in a hot water and canvas melts. Pretty cool! The design I used also from CrossStitcher Magazine.

The last project is a gift for a little kid that Robin is baby sitting. She calls him Energizer Bunny. Bunny it is – only made of yarn and no batteries inside.

That’s all… Thank you so much for reading (looking) through my LONG post. I appreciate it. And thank you BUNCHES for your comments! Love reading them!

Hugs and Smiles,

Hello and Happy Saturday Everybody!

Wow! What crazy hot weather we have today in OH, up to 90F. I guess I would rather be hot than cold. 🙂

Today I wanted to thank you the owner of My Favorite Things Company and her DT for featuring my card at their blog. You can’t  imagine how much it means to me. Lately, I felt so down about the cards I make. I applied to couple of DT without any success. And I understand this – so many amazing and incredibly talented crafters are out there, and to pick one is very-very hard. So when I saw a comment by Gabby on my blog where she told that I have been featured on MFT blog, I got so excited. It really powered up my MOJO and belief in myself. 🙂

You know how much I like to participate in PS Sparks challenge lately. This company helps me to improve on clean and simple cards. I don’t know how much of a progress I have done, but on this card I didn’t use any DP. Elena? No DP? A girl who can’t imagine a card without pretty papers.

Well, back to the challenge. This week it is a color challenge – cool shades. How cool is this! I tried to stay close to the color palette as much as I can. Little Fella set was inked up once again. Prismacolor pencils did their job on bringing up the colors. For the word squeal I used Party Posse stamp set and markers for stamping. Inside it is said: “It’s your birthday.”

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me your love. Hearing from you is a huge deal to me. 🙂

Hugs to all and fantastic weekend too,

CAS Kitty Card

I am so glad you stopped by my friends. You already noticed that I am so much in CAS style lately. I am still learning and most of enjoying this process.

Look at his beautiful and charming kitty from Paper Smooches. She is sending some fuzzy hugs to one of my friends. She also decided to play at PS Sparks Challenge. The second week of each month is always a Designer Drafts challenge. And here the sketch.

For my card instead of using a piece of paper for vertical element I chose to emboss cardstock. I also added some fabric stickers for extra texture and color.

Warm and Fuzzy

Thinking of you…

We (both kitty and me) hope that you like our card.

Thank you so much for looking and leaving your comments. It means a lot to me.

Gold Challenge and Retro Sketch

Hello Everybody!

Today I have two cards to share with you. The first one is really simple with a little bit of gold embossing. I made it for PS Sparks Challenge. I used Smarty Pants stamp set for this card.

Second card is for my friend in WI. Hope you are not tired yet of this cute critter from Party Posse stamp set. Retro Sketch helped with the layout. Love this blog – talented group of ladies and great ideas!

Another card for Teacher

Hello My Friends!

Here is another card that I made for Sergei’s teacher. I used Smarty Pants stamp set from Paper Smooches.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your comments.

Wishing you all a beautiful day,

Pencil thank you

Всем привет!

А вот и другая открытка, которую я сделала учительнице Сережи. Использовала свой любимый штамп Smarty Pants.

Спасибо, что не забываете дорогие мои!

Хорошего вам всем дня,

Hey Dude!

That is my son’s favorite word – “dude”. His birthday is coming soon and I thought “dude” card will perfect for him. I used a stamp set from Paper Smooches and different color inks. Actually the whole idea for using different colors came from PS Sparks Challenge. This week it is an inspiration picture. Another clean and simple card from me.

May 2013

Thank you so much for stopping by today and leaving your kind comments. They mean a lot to me!

Thank you Teacher!

… The school year is almost over. It was our first year at new place, we had some ups and downs. Normal life, right? Sergei had a good fortune with his teachers. Very nice people and so inspiring. Always ready to help and answer all the questions. To show our appreciation and gratitude I made thank you cards. I will show you couple of them. 🙂

Robot Thank you

This card is for our Robotics and Design class teacher. This cute robot from Paper Smooches fits perfect to the theme. The sketch is from MOJO Monday sketch. Hope our teacher liked it. 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by my friends and leaving your comments. Have a wonderful day everybody,
