I just finished one card yesterday. But first I would like to tell you about card I got from my friend. She made it for me. It was my first ever-handmade card that I got. I can’t describe how I felt at that moment. Happy to tears… It was so thoughtful and so kind of my friend. I love the words on the card. Inside the envelope she put 3 shells that she brought from her vacation to South Carolina. It’s the most precious gift you could ever have. It means a lot for me. It means that she was thinking about my family and me. Handmade gifts that made with the heart and a soul are the best and are priceless.
And now I can tell you about the card that I made. I used a stamp that I bought about 2 years ago in the dollar rack from Jo-Ann Fabric and crafts store. I stamped it with StazOn ink and colored with my colored pencils. Then I cut it in a circle shape with my Fiskars template. It took me a long time to learn how to use their templates and Ultra ShapeXpress. Now I know how to do it and enjoy using this tool.
I matted the ladybug circle on a black circle. Then I cut a bigger circle and with my round corner punch made a scalloped edge. I stamped this circle with green dye-based ink using acrylic clear stamps from Heidi Grace. Then again I cut another circle from green textured paper. Added some piercing and stitching. And the last circle from yellow paper, which I stamped with little flowers, using red pigment ink. Are you dizzy from my circles yet? I hope not.
I sponged each of the circle edges. Then I punched some flowers, gave them a shape with my embossing tool from Fiskars also. For the background I decided to go with a red color. I stamped some flowers on it with red ink. To finish a card I made a frame from a ribbon with adhesive on the side. In the center of each flower I glued some beads. Since I am practicing on making a scalloped edge with a circle rounder punch I decided to attach the border too. I stamped some flowers and punched a hole in the center of each flower with my Crop-A-Dile.
Thank for stopping by!
Have a great time!
Elena
