Hello! Today is the beginning of a new week! My son didn’t have school today. They had a staff meeting. My husband decided to do a little surprise for us and brought us to the Oshkosh Public Museum. They had a very interesting exhibition; The Tsar and the President. It is about Russian Tsar Alexander II and Abraham Lincoln. It is the story of two men who never met each other but they worked together to change the world.
They also had some other interesting stuff. I’ll post some pictures later.
Now to the cards. Today’s cards don’t have stamping. Maybe a little bit on the first. Long time ago I got two stickers from one Russian girl (Shipa is her nickname) from Russian craft forum. I promised to make two cards out of them.
For the first one I used a clear stamp to make a background. I added some extra stickers and it was ready!
I really liked to do the second card. This card was made out of an envelope! Very talented Jana has a wonderful tutorial Pocket Card using Recycled Envelopes! Jana has made so many tutorials (coloring techniques, making mini-albums, using different tools) and beautiful cards! Thank you very much Jana for sharing your knowledge and talent with us. I was just following the instructions from the tutorial, added the sticker, ribbon, little sparkles from Hero Arts. For making a scalloped edge I used a Fiskars punch. Also wanted to add about tying a bow. Do you like it? There is a trick to it. I found a great tutorial on You Tube by Adrienne Kennedy. Thank you Adrienne!
And last two cards that my son Sergei made from the kit that my friend Vera sent to me. Pretty good job!
Hope you had a good day today!
I’ll see you soon!
Sincerely,
Elena
Supplies for the cards: white cardstock, textured cardstock, clear stamp, dye-based ink from SU, stickers, envelope, Fiskars border punch, ribbon, patterned paper form DCWV, embellishments from Hero Arts
