Can Nature Play Music?

Music in a shell

Music in a shell

Hello and thank you for stopping by today! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the holiday time!

Today I have a card to show you. Maybe it’s not a masterpiece and will never be published in a magazine, but for me it was a card that gave me wonderful thoughts and memories. And here they are…

Have you ever thought about nature in a different way? Yes, our nature can create music around us that changes each season and has a different sound.

Lets start with the fall. Leaves – falling leaves create a charming melody when you walk on them. And not only this, leaves by themselves are great dancers too – they dance a waltz when they are falling from the trees in their beautiful colored dresses! Then what season comes next?

Winter – and here is music of snow; I always liked it when I was kid especially on the way to school to play a fun melody by stepping on the crust of snow. Oh! How about another one – sound of wind during the snowstorms, like blowing a whistle I think.

Moving on to spring – melting icicles make an adorable sound like somebody playing a xylophone. Of course I am not even counting the birds that are the best singers!

Now summer – rain. I don’t like it so much, but the melody of it is not so bad. Even thunderstorms are like heavy metal music. But for some of us summer is vacation time next to the sea or ocean where the melody comes from the waves and… big shells. I never believed that a shell has the music of the sea (ocean). But when I put it close to my ear I hear it, very quiet and calm.

I would like to thank you my friend Anna for sending me this stamped image (ATC stamp). This little boy listening to his shell brought me some memories from my childhood and my heart was filled with a beautiful melody…

Enough with lyrics… This card was created for the MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge. Sorry I am late to participate, but made it anyway. Thank you Julee for the inspiration!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and listening to my crazy music ramblings.

Elena

I loved your post today Elena, it brought me back to my childhood & although I never put music to all the seasons happenings…I sure did notice the sounds of rain, snow when you stepped on it, leaves & their free fall (how beautiful & gracefall they fall) & of course putting a shell up to my ears & listening to the sounds of the ocean! Thanks for reminding me.

  6. Oh, I hear it, Elena…the music of the seasons. Here, our summer wind plays a Wagner symphony, very disquieting, but the mornings start out sweet and lightly musical. Maybe today will be one of those magical days when I can hear the birds singing all day long. Your card is adorable. A very sweet image, and I love the papers you used.
