Once Upon a Montly Challenge

Hello! As I promised yesterday here is really special post to me. There is a little story behind it. About three years ago I met a wonderful lady and very talented crafter through the blog land. Her name is Ida. Later on our relationship developed into a friendship. We are writing letters, e-mails to each other, sending cards, one time we spoke on the phone. Ida is always an inspiration for me, and she always encourages me for trying something new in a crafting world. Besides this she also supports me in my life overall. She was one of the crafters who was worried about me not posting for so long… Ida and all of you my friends are one of the many reasons that I came back. In one of the e-mails Ida asked me about making a challenge once a month between two of us. How fun is that? Thank you so much for this idea, Ida! And here is a debut of our friendship challenge which we gave the name “Once Upon a Monthly Challenge”.

This month Ida is the host of the new-born challenge, and she asked to create a card by using  “Funky Patterns”. It can be papers, stamps, embellishments but the card has to use patterns (ie: squares, triangles, dots, flowers, diamonds). As you can see I used a paper from the Basic Grey which has some diamond shape patterns on it. And it was matching pretty well to the stamped image that my friend Anna sent to me long time ago. I enjoyed this very first challenge so much!

Oh, almost forgot for the layout I followed a sketch from Sketch for You to Try  by Jen del Muro.

Would you like to see what my friend Ida created? Really, check it out – you will love it too! I was so amazed of how creative and adorable you can be by using stamps with the patterns.

Before I finish this post I wanted once again to thank you all my friends, virtual and from real life, my DH and son for giving me enough strength to not give up on the things that I like to do. Crafting is my passion and hope that this will continue to lead me in my life road.

Have a beautiful day everybody and thank you for stopping by,

Supplies used: SU cardstock, Basic Grey DP, Penny Black stamp, Amy R. Sentiments stamp, Memento black ink, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, flower, thread, buttons, sewing machine, Nestabilities die-cut
