Inch And A Half Squares Or My Never Ending Post…

Card From Catherine

Card From Catherine

Hello and Happy Friday My Friends!

Sorry for not posting too long. So much stuff going in my small family right now, but we are working it out.

I want to thank all of you for kind and heartfelt words.  You also noticed that I made some changes with the banner. My husband helped me with this! Hope you liked it!  Just wanted to tell that at the right upper corner a picture of me when I was 5-6 years old.

Before showing you my card I wanted to share with you a card from My Friend Catherine that I got yesterday. So beautiful and gentle! Flowers are so pretty!  I love the sparkles and colors! Picture can’t really show all the beauty of Catherine’s card… Thank you Catherine for this special gift!

Half And Inch Squares Card

Inch And A Half Squares Card

Now I think I can start telling you about the card that I just made. Long time ago I wanted to try making an “inchy”-card. And here it is, but not quite “inchy”. The size of squares is 1.5 inches. I tried to do it with an inch size, but than I decided to go with this size and I liked it! If you would like to try this technique be sure to go on Hero Arts blog. I love this blog, it is like a stamping school and all of the Designers are like greatest teachers! Thank you to all of you!!! Shari has a wonderful tutorial about making a panel card out of inchies. So inspirational and very beautiful!

As you can see for this card I used the versatile stamp Wishing Tree from Pink Poison. I love that this stamp set had so many small stamps – it really gives you lots of possibilities about decorating this tree, just how you wish.

To give some interest to the card I added a little bling to the card – gems and glossy accents to the birds. The other thing I am in love now is doodling! I see that lots of girls from our blogging crafting land are in it, so why I shouldn’t try it too! I was inspired by amazing Faith to try this technique! I just adore her style! Thank you Faith for the inspiration!

The last thing about this card is the sentiment. Wonder how I made it? Again browsing through the blogs of very creative ladies! To give the curly shape of my tag I was inspired by incredibly talented Anna Wight! Don’t you just love her designed stamps, illustrations and fantastic coloring!

The shape of the tag by itself was created after reading and looking at the very artistic blog by Asela Hopkins. You can find a tutorial about making tag using a punch here. Asela used a punch for this, but if you have Nestabilities you can also do it. That is how I made it.  Of course if you will stop at Asela’s place you will spend at least an hour. I spend all evening reading and learning! Thank you Asela for sharing your knowledge with us!

Wow! This post is so long! That what happens when you are not posting for so long!

I want to wish you all a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend and of course happy stamping in these days!

Thank you for stopping by,

Hugs,

Elena

Supplies for the card: cardstock from DCWV, water colored paper from Michaels (art supplies), water color paint kit, Wishing Tree Stamp Set, onyx black StazOn ink, gems, gel pens, Glossy Accents, SU ink pads, Nestabilities
